During a recent weekend getaway to Copenhagen, I had the pleasure of immersing myself in the local fashion scene. I was eager to draw inspiration from the stylish attire I encountered, particularly noting that blazers seemed to be a staple among the women there. My husband even noticed and that's big considering he doesn't notice a pretty dark eyebrow tint!

Danish women seemed to consider the humble blazer an essential item of clothing. What was interesting was that they wore it with various outfits, including dresses, skirts, hoodies, and tracksuits, regardless of the occasion. By the second day, I found myself somewhat fixated on tallying the numerous blazers we encountered! I It was fun!

Embracing the Trend: How to Style Your Blazer

1. Mix & Match

Don't be afraid to play around with different textures and colours. Pair a structured blazer with ripped jeans for that perfect blend of casual and chic. There are some amazingly colourful blazers out at the moment. I would also recommend checking out your local charity shops and online second hand offerings to find a true gem.

2. Accessorize

Elevate your blazer game with statement accessories. A chunky belt or a pair of statement earrings can take your blazer ensemble from ordinary to extraordinary in an instant. Add a quirky bag and a cheeky grin :-)

3. Dress it Up

Who says blazers are only for the office? Throw a blazer over a slip dress or a graphic tee for a trendy, off-duty look. I love a polo-neck under a blazer. Copenhagen fashionistas know that versatility is key!

4. Sneakers Are Your Best Friend

Get inspired by the fashion in Copenhagen and combine your blazer with sneakers to achieve a casually cool look. The perfect blend of comfort and style! Another trendy option is to wear a hoodie underneath your blazer. Perfect for trans-seasonal styling. Layering is key to this look.

5. Make it Yours

Personalize your blazer with patches, pins, or embroidery to add a touch of individuality. Your blazer, your rules! I'm obsessed with vintage. I'm drawn to shiny things like a Magpie, so I love to add a broach to my blazer. You can find the most amazing vintage broaches at a good market with Portobello being my favourite.

I upcycled a blazer my mum had sitting in her wardrobe from the 1980's.

It holds a special significance as it belonged to my mum, and I even have a photo of her wearing it, making it truly unique.

Step out in Style!

It's time to channel your inner Copenhagen fashionista and rock that blazer like never before. Whether you're heading to brunch with friends, date night or running a few errands, let your blazer be the star of your outfit. Remember, fashion is not just about what you wear; it's about how you wear it. I hope you find some inspiration in my Style Files.

In conclusion, the streets of Copenhagen have spoken, and blazers are here to stay as a timeless fashion staple. So, grab your blazer, experiment with different looks, and let your inner fashionista shine through!

Summer Wedding Style: Dress to Impress!

Welcome, fashionistas! With summer in full swing, it's time to talk about the ultimate sartorial challenge: styling for a summer wedding. Whether you're a guest, part of the bridal party, or just there for the open bar, looking fabulous is a must.

I'm very excited to be going to my littlest sisters wedding in Vancouver next week. So, the perfect wedding guest outfit has been in the making for some time now. I have to admit it's been a bit of a challenge. Luckily, it's a pretty laid back affair and not black tie. Not sure how I'd cope with that level of fanciness!

For the Style file, I selected two non-dress outfits because I believe it's important to showcase your uniqueness and enjoy experimenting with your clothing choices. Take a break from traditional wedding attire.

I am still very much obsessed with waistcoats! I love this combination of trousers and waistcoat. It is versatile and can be worn throughout different seasons so will stand the test of time. It's an investment outfit and the pieces can be worn separately. The Waistcoat would be equally as gorgeous paired with a skirt or black leather shorts. The trousers have a high waist to give you a defined shape. The waistcoat features a stunning oversized collar. I have opted for minimal accessories, pairing the outfit with block heeled sandals and a small fringe bag. Adding a delicate necklace and earring set would complete the look beautifully.

This outfit is currently on sale. Hurry!

Up next is the incredible lavender strapless top and trouser combination. This outfit will make you stand out for sure, and it's guaranteed to have fellow guests enquiring about the shop's name right away so they can go buy it!

Although I've matched it with all silver accessories, you could opt for some orange accents to add a bold touch if you're feeling daring.

Again, this is an investment piece for sure but you are getting two pieces that can be worn separately in different outfits.

This is your splurge outfit!

It's time to focus on dresses now. Being a big Rixo enthusiast, I was confident that the brand would offer a fantastic selection of dresses for a wedding. I was spoilt for choice but settled on this one as it has sleeves,

considering that not everyone likes to show their arms.

I picked a white sandal and a beautiful baby blue bag. These earrings from MoMuse complement the blue tones in the dress perfectly.

This Mango dress features a stunning long bow tie at the back, adding a touch of elegance. Its loose fit provides extra comfort, making it ideal for a beach wedding, yet equally stylish for any wedding setting.

I love red and gold together as I've styled it here. It would be great with silver too though.

Remember, the key to nailing your summer wedding look is to strike a balance between style and comfort. So, go ahead, experiment with different trends, and don't be afraid to show off your unique fashion sense. After all, weddings are all about celebrating love, so why not do it in style?

Until next time, stay fabulous!

As the music pulses through the crowd and the excitement builds, your outfit should be as show-stopping as the headlining act. Whether you’re swaying to the soulful melodies at a Michael Kiwanuka gig or jumping to the bass drops at a Disclosure gig, your fashion choices can enhance your experience.

Choosing a Western-chic theme was a natural choice for me after coming across these boots. Being a big fan of Western style, I couldn't resist.

Here’s how to hit the right note with your style at any gig or outdoor festival.

Embrace Layering: Weather, like in Ireland, and gig venues can be unpredictable. Layering is both practical and fashionable. Begin with a simple vest or t-shirt and layer with a shirt or a trendy jacket that you can wrap around your waist if it gets too hot. I once wore a winter coat to an indoor Chemical Brothers gig. The sweat, oh my! That was a lesson learned!

What's not to love about the smiley t-shirt paired with a sparkly cowboy hat - I absolutely adore it!

The red fringe jacket is vintage and I might just have to purchase one for myself I love it that much!

Selecting Comfortable Footwear: As you are likely to be on your feet for extended periods, make comfort a priority alongside style. Explore choices such as combat/cowgirl boots, trendy sneakers, or ankle boots featuring a cushioned sole. I am so in LOVE with the boots in the Style File. I'll be making a purchase when I visit the U.S next year as they are a fraction of the price! Yeehaw!

Standout Accessories: Festivals provide an ideal opportunity to try out daring accessories. Consider a wide-brimmed hat similar to the one featured in the style guide below, adorned with exquisite sterling silver details in the form of a detachable necklace. Pair it with some quirky sunglasses, but opt for a more affordable option to avoid any regrets if they happen to go missing in the portaloo! Yikes!

The cute necklace with a small cowboy hat is adorable, and the earrings in the shape of cowboy boots are really cool!

Practical Bags: Embrace a hands-free approach with a fashionable belt bag, backpack, or crossbody bag. The one featured in the Style File is hand crafted in Ireland. It is versatile, allowing you to wear it both as a belt bag and a crossbody bag. Brilliant! This way, you can keep your hands free for essential tasks such as carrying drinks and having a bop!

Remember, gigs and festivals are about having fun and expressing yourself. So let your outfit be an extension of your personality and enjoy the music!

Dressing for a gig is like picking a playlist - you've got to 'mix and match' until you hit the right 'cord!

Thank you for taking the time to read :-)

Happy festival season!
